Our commitment to making safety our top priority has earned Balfour Beatty E & M Limited a Safety Performance Award for working at height.

The company was awarded a contract from Hongkong Electric for urgent replacement of Tension Insulator sets on three 132kV Overhead Line towers on 13th June 2006.  Works commenced almost immediately after the award to meet the very tight outage programme.  The outages were only available on Sundays and therefore, the site team had to complete the insulator replacement works on any one tower within the same day and to energize the circuits the same evening.  This is due to the peak demand for electricity during summer.

Works were completed ahead of schedule to  the satisfaction of the Customer.  In recognition of the good performance, the Transmission and Distribution Division of Hongkong Electric presented a Safety Performance Award to BBEM for Safe Working at Height?during their Division? morning briefing.
